AIM

The aim of this course is to examine a dam planning works built on the river and to know how to characteristics effects in the river and its environment and drenaige area due to the dam structures.

CONTENT

This course contains; Introduction: dam elements and types,Effect of dams to environment,Flood hydrology on dams, unit hydrograph methods,Syntetic unit hydrograph methods, snyder and mockus synthtetic unit hydrograph methods,Unit hydrograph for different rainfall duration,Sedimantation in reservoirs,Jeology on dam study, classification and characteristic of soils.,Midterm 1,Foundation Studies on dams,Preplanning studies on dam design,Jeology an topographical studies on dam planning,Selection of dam type,,.
